100 days until the New Year

People often overestimate what they can achieve in one year, and underestimate what they can achieve in five years.

At the end of August, I made a life choice to leave my secure 9-5 job and start focusing fully on my 6-year-old side hustle business (www.quiettenacity.com). Many called my move courageous. Some – foolish, and others felt worried and warned me: It’s not the right time, you know, we’re entering into the deepest recession ever…

I know, and I am ready. Do you want to know how?

  • As there are 100 days left until the end of this year, there are also limited days left in our lives. I prefer not to regret that I missed creating something that I wanted just because I feared the unknown.
  • Difficult times are also times of great opportunities. I see abundance, not scarcity.
  • I am a woman who knows how to learn and always has a plan.

Here are some insights from it:

1. I do not think in a linear way

Life is a beautiful journey, and we often imagine it linearly. Moving from A to B to get to C, we don’t let ourselves consider that we are not restricted to only going in this direction; we can move in all possible ways simultaneously, not only to B. This understanding opens your eyes to various opportunities, leading to your exponential growth.

Let yourself live with the idea of the multiverse for a while.

Add at least one fiction book a year to your reading list. Take Dark Matter written by Blake Crouch into consideration. It is a profoundly human and relentlessly surprising science-fiction thriller about choices, the paths we don’t take, and how far we’ll go to claim the lives we dream of.

2. I have a “Freedom Fund”.

I love money because money loves me. Money gives me choices on how to spend my time, with whom to build relationships, and what thoughts to keep in my head. Even though the world screams: Money doesn’t buy you happiness, I say – money will always matter. So, treat it well – earn, invest & get wealthy. Especially if you are a woman.

Most of you have heard of the gender pay gap, but do you truly realize the impact of gender debt & the investing gap that women face? “Women pay more for the debt they carry than men, and they don’t invest as much as men do.  As a result, women retire with two-thirds the money of men…even though women tend to live years longer. The latest report from Statistics Canada states that the average life expectancy in Canada is 79.9 years for men and 84 years for women.

Don’t overthink and do it – set up your freedom fund.

3. I have an accountability partner

Unfortunately, friends have never worked for me as accountability partners. Neither did any promises that I made to myself. If you are different – congratulations, you are a very disciplined person, and I would be happy to learn from you. In my case, I always have had an accountability partner who has been a person who achieved what I dream about, someone whose competence scared me a little, and who was sincerely on my side with the intention to help me grow.

Do you have such a person in mind? Reach out and ask them for help.

If no one is there for you, I am more than happy to step in. Every last day of the month we can meet and measure your progress in a safe and not judgemental, culturally aware space. Registration for the upcoming meeting is here

4. I protect my confidence

As a parent of two kids, I simplified my approach to their upbringing through the statement – love them, teach them to be respectful & give them confidence. How else can I really prepare my kids for the future that I know nothing about?

The world is changing at light speed, and the pressure of being fast enough to catch up is unbearable, especially for those whose goal is to always stay ahead.

Comparison, stress, positioned social media presence, burnout, and an overwhelming amount of negative news, melt your capability to believe in yourself day after day.

Protect your confidence, as you would protect the confidence of your child. Daily and constantly.

It’s always your choice to be or not to be amongst the courageous people.

They are not necessarily free of fear, but they act in spite of it.

There are limited days until the end of your journey.

Today marks 100 days until the New Year.

Simplify and focus.

Act.
