Radicle Personhood 2025

October 16 @ 5:30 PM - 9:00 PM

A Blueprint for Belonging

As a proud supporter of the Garden of Even™ Project, Quiet Tenacity invites you to continue the conversation on belonging.

In 1929, five bold women stood before the courts and demanded recognition as “persons.” Their triumph, known as the Persons Case, cracked open the legal barriers that had kept women invisible under the law.

But the fight for personhood has never been just about legal status. It’s about the daily, radical act of stepping into our full humanity — and creating space for others to do the same.

This year at Radicle Personhood: A Persons Day Celebration, we explore a timeless blueprint for personhood –  belonging –  through an ancient story of two women, who against all odds reshaped their future through agency, collective wisdom and thoughtful-risk taking.

Their story offers a radical blueprint for how we might belong to ourselves and to the world around us as we express and celebrate personhood.

Keynote: The Persons Case and Belonging

At the forefront of employment and labour law, Samantha Seabrook, founder of Seabrook Workplace Law,  will share the importance of the famous “Person’s Case” and how it impacts women, and all persons today through:

  • An exploration of how systems of governance and justice need to be held accountable and open to change and celebrating the Famous Five.
  • Defining an expansive evolving concept of what it means to be a person today.
  • Linking past and present by underscoring the importance of the Persons Day case and how it ensures that definitions of personhood remain expansive, equitable, and human‑centered.

This keynote offers a relevant take on the power of personhood and invites listeners to remain active in shaping the systems that govern them externally, and internally, to step into the full expression of their personhood.

Keynote: Blueprint for personhood: Agency, Power & Collective Wisdom

In her signature Garden of Even™ keynote, Kadie Philp, (our storyteller and founder) will invite us into the world of Ruth and Naomi — two women who, against all odds, reshaped their futures through:

  • Agency and Personal power  — choosing to act when the world said stay still by reclaiming identity and dignity in the face of loss.
  • Collective wisdom — knowing survival and flourishing come not from isolation, but from connection.
  • Thoughtful risk-taking — crossing borders (literal and social) to carve out new possibilities.

Their story offers a radical blueprint for how we might belong to ourselves and to the world around us as we step into our radicle personhood. It’s about more than survival; it’s about transformation.

Fireside Chat: Belonging isn’t Borrowed

In this reflective conversation, Inna Rozum-Tuka, Founder of Quiet Tenacity, joins Kadie Philp, storyteller and founder of Garden of Even™, to deepen the keynote’s themes and bring them into our present context. Together, they will explore:

  • Belonging as co-creation — moving beyond the idea that belonging is borrowed or given, and understanding it as something we actively build together.
  • Cultural curiosity — the practice of engaging with differences as a source of growth, allowing us to transform systems while staying true to ourselves.
  • Home within and with others — discovering how we can feel at home in our own identity while creating spaces where others can belong too.

This fireside chat invites us to see belonging not as conformity, but as transformation — a practice that strengthens both our individuality and our shared humanity.
